Boulies Master Series

I've been sitting on this chair for 2 days now. It is very comfortable. I have not yet fully adjusted it to my personal tastes as it takes time to to work out where the minor tweaks are necessary . I'm in no doubt, once fully adjusted, it will be a great chair.
Feedback on the instructions. It is not at all obvious which way round the "Tilt Mechanism" (M in my instructions) should be installed. i.e. which bit should face forward. I only discovered this when I sat on the chair for the first time and promptly kicked the casters as they stuck out from the chair. I had to dis-assenble the chair, switch the tilt mechanism 180 degrees and then re-assemble. This could have been avoided with clearer and more obvious instructions.
Second point about assembly. Item B the 4 x cushion gaskets are very fiddly and awkward to install. Would it be possible for them to be permanently attached during production . After all, my plan b to deal with them was to use a drop of superglue to hold them in position during assembly. ;-)

I bought this for my son and it was easy to install and very comfortable. It's seat and backrest are wider and more supportive than the previous chair. Very happy with the chair. Will probably buy another one for our other son's room.

It's been about six months since I bought this chair and it's great. The height and seat depth are perfect for me. I spend several hours a day in this chair and the support is excellent. There is no loud squealing sound when rolling on the chair; the rolling is very smooth.

A well overdue investment in a proper chair for working at a desk and it’s been life enhancing. So much support and comfort.

I ordered my Boulies Master series chair on the 5th of April 2024. As of writing this review on the 11th of May, my chair still lies on the floor half assembled.

I ordered the chair on their website which noted stock availability. Much to my disappointment when I received my package, as you can see in the photos, the delivery was missing multiple key components to build the chair.

For clarity, what I did not receive was as follows-
Gas lift & protective cover.
Tilting mechanism/chair mounting bracket.
Plastic protective screw cover inserts.
The tool kit provided was also already opened, suggesting a second hand product.

I contacted Boulies support about this and they stated they would send out the missing parts asap, most of which arrived at varying intervals throughout the coming month. However, they also stated that the tilt mechanism/mounting bracket would not be available for dispatch by the manufacturer until the 30th of April. Understandably, this inconvenienced me, which I made them aware of due to advertising a reasonable 3-5 working day delivery of a complete product. I was offered £15 compensation, which was appreciated, but I did not feel this equated to the significant period of delay. I was then offered £50 compensation which I felt justified the situation and accepted. If the story ended there and I received the missing part to build my chair when expected (early May), even after the delay, I would have given a higher review rating.

Fast forward to 11th of May. I am now locked in a battle with Yodel to receive the tilt mechanism/mounting bracket which they have been in possession of since the 3rd of May. I have been guaranteed delivery multiple times now, to no avail, and while I understand this is not a specific Boulies shortcoming. They employ this less than reliable company to courier their product and for such premium pricing. I expect much better across the board and cannot help but reflect my full experience in this review, 6 month extended warranty be damned.

Overall, regardless of how the chair performs, this whole situation has sullied my much anticipated buy. The hassle has not been worth it for me and if given another opportunity to do it over again, I would absolutely have looked elsewhere to save myself the stress and disappointment of this purchase. I hope my case is an isolated incident and others aren't subject to this nonsense. maybe one day I will get the item I paid for, but for now, the wait continues...
